Studio A Status ?

Just checking in... Are the CD players and Rivendell automation up and running yet in Studio A?  If not, when do you anticipate they'll be fixed?.. just curious. If the problems are too complicated to fix, is there any chance we could hire someone to fix them and submit the bill to Tufts. Always nice to have the CD players and automation working if and when a DJ needs them. The above has been going on for quite some time now which is very unusual. The CD Players and Rivendell Automation in our main Studio A have always been up and running with very minimal down time. Let us know, thanks!  Have a great weekend!

The CD players are all operational as of Tuesday. We are still working on Rivendell, you can check previous posts in the ops group to see what we’ve tried so far. Punting that to someone else isn’t possible, because no one exists. Professional Rivendell guys don’t exist, much less grow on trees. There for sure won’t be any movement on this while we are on break but we will keep the Google group updated.

Have you tried swapping Adele (studio a pc) with Carlos (studio c pc)?
If Carlos works in studio C, why wouldn't it work in studio A?

I assume that you can't just swap them - that at minimum network interfaces need to be reconfigured.

What has been done to try to fix Adele so far?

Thanks for the info Charlie, will watch for your updates. And thx to everyone else for responding and offering suggestions on the Rivendell / Automation issue in Studio A.  Looking forward to when it's resolved.  Have a great spring break.

I don't see why you can't swap them. They both plug into the same switch.

Also for some reason Carlos (Studio C PC) had its IP address changed so if I 'ping carlos', I get destination host unreachable.
Not sure why it would be changed from 192.168.3.201 to 192.168.3.200.

The spinitron logging is different. I forget if the difference was compiled in or not.

Even if the computers can successful;ly connect after a swap, if you swap them and don't reconfigure them, then the computer in studio A will still think it's the computer in C, so the "Switch to" options will be ...mislabeled is I guess is the best way to put it. Right? And that path lies confusion and much dead air.

The answer to this problem did in fact lie with the -1 port. It cannot exist. It is fixed now and automation in studio a is back to normal.
