I just wanted to say Nick, what an outstanding job you have done implementing the WMFO remote broadcasting!

It's clear that without your incredible & diligent programming skills (plus some support from other community volunteers, most notably Bob Donovan and Joann Keesey), if the station was even still broadcasting during this COVID-19 pandemic, Rick Deckard would only be playing library automation, and with community members not allowed into Tufts facilities including Curtis Hall at least through January of next year, the audiences for our long running shows would essentially be lost...

Sure the error reporting is a little terse, but as a computer programmer myself, I thought it was a brilliant practical idea on your part to eschew a user interface. A few weeks ago I uploaded my show to the shared drive, and when I checked back later I saw the file had been rejected and renamed with an "invalid date format" in its name -- It took me a few moments to realize I had put one too many zeroes in the filename, and soon, with a grinning smile on my face, everything was all set 8-o

Thanks so much Nick, for everything you've done over the years, but most particularly for creating in this time of crisis an amazing new WMFO remote upload and broadcast capability!

We all owe Nick a huge debt of thanks for taking Alex Piandes vision of canned shows over WMFO's signal and making it work. Despite some user hiccups, and some unexplained loss of the webstream, Nick from the remote smoke-filled air of Vashon Island has been more than responsive to keeping us going.

I hope everyone received the notice that this Sunday at noon (9/20) is a zoom staff meeting for anyone who desires a show in whatever format for the fall semester.  I have ended my employment with the US Census but I intend to take an extended break from Celtic Dusk/Between the Worlds.  The earliest I see myself resuming my sojourn behind the microphone is January 2021.  I will remain active behind the scenes and not fade away.  There are signs of life in the music department, for instance.

Hi all, 

I must chime in too - Well said, Edward. 

A Special thank you to Nick who helped me and took his own time out on more than one occasion during remote broadcasting.  Some great shows have been created, despite the obvious setbacks. Speaking personally, I learned how to strengthen bits of my show that I normally wouldn’t have done live in studio, only due to the extra attention of putting it together beforehand. Some new “tools in the toolbox” going forward, even after 13 years of being on the air. Proof that we are always learning as time marches on. 

Thank you to all staff and community members who have helped during this bizarre year of 2020. I think some great shows were produced that made a-lot of people happy, this middle aged dj included.
