Dear All,

First off, many thanks to those who have already supported my Birdathon. In the first 48hrs since I started fundraising I have already surpassed the halfway point of my goal of $1500! I wanted to add a small amendment to my previous email as the window for making donations has changed this year. Unlike in previous years when donations could be received up to December 31, as of this year donations are only receivable until JUNE 1. So, for those considering supporting my Birdathon, please do so soon!

If you miss this deadline but would still like to support the TLBO, donations can be made direct to the Tatlayoko Field Station Society via etransfer sent to:

Tatlayoko Field Station Society

Please make sure to add a comment to the effect of "for TLBO" as the TFSS also receives donations for other programs.

Many thanks,

Avery

Dear all,

Birdathon season has again come around, when birders across Canada fundraise for their conservation project of choice. For the tenth year running I will be doing my Birdathon (May 31/June1) to raise funds for the Tatlayoko Lake Bird Observatory (TLBO) in the Chilcotin region of BC. The TLBO is a project of the local Tatlayoko Field Station Society with continued collaboration from the Nature Conservancy of Canada. The project runs for the months of August and September. The TLBO will be entering its 19th season this year! Data collected is used for many purposes including population trend analysis along with that of the 20+ other bird observatories across the country.

Having moved to Whitehorse, Yukon in 2022 this will be my fourth northern Birdathon. As with last year, I plan to join the official Yukon Birdathon event for another full day of birding with many wonderful northern bird species! You can read about my 2024 Birdathon on which I managed to top my goal of 100 species here: Avery’s Birdathon 2024 -Yukon | Tatlayoko Lake Bird Observatory (wordpress.com) and keep a lookout on the TLBO blog page for my 2025 Birdathon write-up in early June.

TLBO relies on a variety of funding sources and every little bit helps! Over the years, thanks to a host of generous supporters(!), my Birdathons have raised over $14,000 for the TLBO and last year our team, the "Wandering Tatlers" raised over $2500! Please help us reach our goal of $3000 this year. Funds raised through my 2025 Birdathon will go towards the 2026 TLBO field season as the window for receiving donations extends until the end of the calendar year.

Donors will receive a tax-receipt for their contribution. Also, please consider passing this on to any interested friends and family!

You can donate on my Birdathon webpage: https://www.canadahelps.org/me/6MVj2HC

Many thanks for your support and for all that you do for conservation,

Avery

Hi all,
I usually put a plug in for my birdathon but thank you Elaine for passing this along! Avery and I used to work together at the TLBO. Now he has moved onto to the station managers role. This is to say that our two birdathons are a team effort as all funds donated to either go to the TLBO. I know that many of you have been very generous over the years and for that you have our deepest gratitude. If you find that you have money to spare and want to donate to a worthy cause reach out to me or Avery or follow the link in his previous email.

Happy birding,

Sachi
