Hi,

Today, in the near desert scrub in south Idaho at Bruneau Sand Dune State Park I saw a bird I am unable to identify. I suspect it is a common bird in the Midwest prairie/desert. It is about the size of a Western Kingbird, has a similar sharp, thin, pointed beak, and striking teal blue under-tail coverts. It perched on this T-post and dropped to the gravel below to quickly forage and then back to the perch. It made no sound. When I pasted these pics into Merlin to identify, it either gave no suggestion, or crazy things like Cooper's Hawk or Cedar Waxwing or Green Jay. Apologies for the poor smartphone pictures.

Any help appreciated. (I zoomed the pics out in Merlin to fill the box.)

I guess it's an immature female Mountain Bluebird.
