Hello There,

Is there any way to send push notifications based on client device's time and not server time zone?

Hey Chirag,
We do not have this capability at this time, however, we have planned it for the future (maybe by December).

Jude, thanks for the quick answer!

On the same note, my app users are spread across geographies and their time zones differ significantly. I would like to send the notifications as per their time as I certainly do not want to send out notifications in the middle of the night :)

One possible work around may be based on selecting geographies. However, I really need to create ~20 different notifications per message I want to send out (that is essentially same content, but scheduled on different server times and for different countries/time-zones). The current dashboard allows me to put multiple geographies for a push message, but takes target users for the last country selected (may be a bug?). Is there a way I can schedule post notification based on multiple geographies?  Or may be select a target device time zone as one of the conditions? Or is there a way where I can create a message and then apply to pre-created different templates with pre-selected countries? Or is there any way to achieve this via API so we can automate it?

I wanted to be sure that there is no other way to send post notifications based on target device's time zone before taking a decision to not use CleverTap :)

For now, we do not support targeting to multiple geographies at the same time.

To reach out to your users at an appropriate time, you may group your users into 4 different zones, as follows, and then create four different campaigns which target each zone at different times:
  1. Zone A - GMT-12:00 to GMT-06:00
  2. Zone B - GMT-06:00 to GMT+00:00
  3. Zone C - GMT+00:00 to GMT+06:00
  4. Zone D - GMT+06:00 to GMT+12:00

You may make use of a custom profile variable for the above grouping.
