Hi,

I'm posting here as the official support ticket I raised has had no response in a week.

I have 2 wireless tags which have been offline for a few days due to low battery. I have swapped the batteries for new ones and they are no longer registering on the tag manager. I have performed a reset of the pins which was unsuccessful (I have done this for another tag previously which worked).

Can you advise how I can get the tags (PRO ALS) to connect to the tag manager again? I have unpaired them with the tag manager and they are listed in the "Undelete a tag" option but when I click "Associate" they do not appear and do not beep/flash when a battery is entered.

Thanks.

Simon

When a tag battery is low, I get an email that includes the following:

“To avoid risk of flash memory corruption, please do not leave a dead battery in a tag for longer than 2 weeks.”

While 2 days is a far cry from 2 weeks, and this is obviously a poor design decision made by WST, it is important not to let the battery die and may be what has caused your issue.

Same exact thing happened to me -- battery wasn't dead, nor offline, just signaled the first "low battery" warning.  I changed the battery and now dead, unable to reset by shorting pins, completely unresponsive.  It was a 13-bit wireless tag.  For me, the path of least resistance is to simply order a new one to replace it.  Disappointing, but reality.

Ditto. Lost connectivity, tried to reset, battery was at 90%. Have not heard anything back

How old are these ALS tags in question? Later firmware (tags less  than 2 year old) has better tolerance to these issues. Also, external power, outdoor probe use a new gen MCU that eliminates this issue with something called LPBOR.
If they are more than a year old it is out of warranty but if you mail them back we will try to repair them free of charge (no guarantee,  especially if there is corrosion)
