Hi all,

I have recently started to do a Life Cycle Assessment for small wind turbines, that is to identify the environmental impacts during all the life cycle of the turbine, from extraction of materials to its end of life.

My intention is to compare a locally manufactured wind turbine with a commercial one (of similar size and rated power). For this I will need to have specific data from a company that manufactures small wind turbines.

Since we are a big network holding immense knowledge on small wind turbines :) I wanted to ask if someone has -by any chance- data for a specific commercial model or has an idea where I can find this kind of information (life cycle inventory).

Thank you for your help!!

Cheers,
Katerina

Hello Katerina,
unfortunately I do not have any data about commercial small wind turbines. But I would like to write my thesis about a LCA of the Hugh Piggot wind turbine. As I would like to contribute something new, I am looking wether this work has been done yet.
Could you descripe your work closer? So I can define my idea better. Maybe we can benefit from each other.

Thanks a lot,
Marvin

Hello Immanuel,

Thank you very much! Yes if you could share both his thesis and his contact with me, it would be great! Maybe I will need to ask him some extra information for the inventory he used.

Thanks a lot,
Katerina
