Two weeks ago I ran the Green River Marathon.  Net downhill, starting in VT, ending in Greenfield MA.  Trying to get a BQ before it's too late.  The rolling hills were a little more than I bargained for, coupled with not enough speed work.  Despite "sprinting" (in my mind, not in real life) the last mile, I posted a 3:25:02.  Yes, 2 seconds off a BQ.

Last week, I rearranged flights, arranged to leave parents' weekend early (thanks, Lyn!), put myself on the waitlist of Charles River marathon.  It all came together, and today was a glorious day for 10 2.62 mile loops....  Fueled by seeing Josh at the start line, seeing Jessica (who has eagle eyes for Highlanders) on an early loop, seeing Andrew (who does not have eagle eyes - I mean I know Josh married his sister, and I know he wasn't expecting me, but I was wearing the Highlander colors!!  How 'bout a little love? - my resentment fueled my 8^th lap), and generally hanging with the 3:20 pace group, I turned in a 3:20:57.  BQ minus 4:03.

Josh crushed in a BQ minus 10:34!!
