Dr. Barbara Ericson is an Associate Professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan. When she was at Georgia Tech as a research scientist she led teacher professional development for over 500 teachers. She started her PhD in Human Centered Computing when she was 50. She was the first author of the ebook that has become CSAwesome: a college board endorsed curriculum for Advanced Placement Computer Science A. She creates free and interactive ebooks with new types of practice problems to help students who are learning to program. In addition, she runs Sisters Rise Up to help secondary women who identify as Black, Hispanic/Latina, and/or Native American succeed in Advanced Placement Computer Science.
