I just started using WheresTheGig for our group and believe it's going to be a life saver for us. I'm looking for some assistance exporting to a Google Calendar.

I received an error using the "Export...To Google Calendar". I found a solution by importing the WTG generated "iCal Feed" into Google Calendar, but I like the simplicity of a direct export.

My question is this: Is there a way to fix the "Export...To Google Calendar"?
The error message I receive is this:
There was a problem with either the network or on the server.  If the problem persists, contact the WheresTheGig administration."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks - Jay

Hi Jay. I'm out and about. But I'll be home in a couple of hours and I'll get back to you on this.

OK.  So this is a screencast I made for Google as part of my app verification process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSa9EM_0Bsc
It steps through accepting app permissions, etc, and includes unnecessary steps like reviewing the privacy notice.  But basically:

(1) Go to Google Calendar and create a sub calendar.  Click the "+" and select "Create New Calendar"

Create the calendar:

cal2.png
Once created, then it should show up on the calendar selection panel during the WheresTheGig export process, as is shown in the video.

Can you tell me at what stage of the process you see the error dialog?

Thanks,

Ethan,
The error occurs immediately after clicking the "Export Gigs" button on this screen:

Then this message pops up:

I click OK and the message disappears.
I have been able to import the iCal Feed (generated by WTG) into Google Calendar successfully.

Thanks!
Jay

Sounds like a bug.  I'll investigate.

Hi Jay--

I tested the Google Calendar export from your account and was successful. It's possible that something went wrong between WTG and your destination calendar.  I have seen this happen in the past.  Please remove your destination calendar (the subcalendar you're syncing to, NOT your main Google Calendar) and create a new destination calendar, and retry.  Let me know if that works for you.
