Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that West Newton's first Little Free Library (littlefreelibrary.org) "opened" today in front of 135 Randlett Park. In the words of the Little Free Library organization, a Little Free Library is a "take a book, return a book gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share."

My father, also a Newton resident, spent the last month planning and building our Little Free Library. As the library's official "steward," I welcome all of you to come by any time. And feel free to say hello, whether you're picking up, dropping off, or just browsing.

Enjoy!
Tamara Wieder

What a lovely idea! I've been reading about these, so nice to have one in our own neighborhood.

What a creative, generous thing to have done!  Kudos to your father and to you.  It's a lot smaller than the old West Newton and other branch libraries that we lost, but proof that people still want to read and share books with their neighbors - inspiring.

Best wishes,
Kathleen

How wonderful!  I've missed the book shack at Rumford Ave. terribly.  It was a bigger version of this.
Thanks so much to you and your dad!
