Just a reminder

       I would like to take this opportunity to remind coaches and players that the umpires in the Gold Division are not professional umpires. We are volunteers that are doing something that most of the guys in the Relics don't want anything to do with.  We will make mistakes so deal with it like a mature senior citizens should. The following is the first statement on our homepage. "The Western Mass Relics is a summer/fall recreational men's slow pitch softball league.  It was founded in 1994 with the idea that playing ball is fun."

     There are no scouts out there watching us. The majority of us are out there to have a good time and get a little exercise and are grateful for the opportunity.  So please try to keep this in mind.

I would also like to add, that the umpires not take any arguments personally.  They disagree with the call, not the person. It is sometimes hard to deal with in the heat of the game, but as soon as you understand that, the better off you are.
