Weiz Guys and Gals,

 

We’ve got a packed couple of months ahead with plenty of chances to get together, improve your brewing skills, and share some great beer!  Here’s what’s coming up:

 

APRIL

🍻 Hoppy Hour – April 9th (6:30–8:00 PM)

Location: MeadKrieger Meadery, Loveland
Join us at MeadKrieger Meadery for a relaxed evening of conversation and camaraderie. As a thank you to our active members, the club will cover your first drink—so come out and enjoy a pint with fellow brewers.

 

🧠 Monthly Meeting – April 21st
Location: Timnath Beerwerks (Timnath)
This meeting is all about sharpening your palate. We’ll be hosting an off-flavor class to help you identify common beer flaws—perfect for anyone interested in competitions or certification exams.
As always, please bring your latest creations to share!

 

 

MAY

🍺 Big Brew Day – May 2nd
Big Brew Day is a hands-on event you won’t want to miss! On May 2nd, members will have the opportunity to:

 

• Brew one of the three official competition recipes.
• Dark Celler Imperial Stout
• George and Aaron’s Pre-Prohibition Porter
• Monk’s Ration Trappist Style Single - NHC gold medal winner by the Weiz Guys own Philip LaFleur!
• Collaborate with other active members
• Share ideas, learn new techniques, and have fun together

 

The event will be hosted at Blake Ernst’s house. Food and drinks will be provided, so come ready to brew, mingle, and enjoy the day!

🍻 Hoppy Hour – May 7th (6:30–8:00 PM)
Location: Backyard Tap, Loveland

Join us at Backyard Tap for another Hoppy Hour. Same great deal—first drink is on the club for active members!

 

🏅 Monthly Meeting / COC – May 19th
Location: Crooked Beech Brewery, Loveland
This meeting will feature our Club Only Competition (COC).  As a bonus, Crooked Beech will select one of the entries to brew and put on tap!  An awesome opportunity to have your beer professionally brewed and served!  There is still time to start brewing if you haven’t already!  To participate, you must be an active member and brew with another active member you have not brewed with before—so find a partner and get brewing!

 

 

We’ve got a lot of exciting opportunities ahead and I hope to see you at as many of these as possible!

Also, next Saturday April 11 is the first round of judging for NHC at Bootstrap brewing in Longmont starting at 8:30 am.

This is followed on the 12th by 8 second satellite judging (not sure if this is actually happening. Fred, any additional information  on this session?)

Saturday April 25 @ 9:00 am is judging for 8 seconds in Cheyenne at Blacktooth Brewing.

As Blake says, a busy month.
