Data import into secondary database

Hello.  I am using weectl import in weewx 5.1 to attempt to import data into my forecast database, but I seem to be unable to tell the import tool where to put the data.  When I do a dry run, it is always going to the default wx_binding.  I have tried placing a data_binding = forcast_binding line almost everywhere in the import config file and it doesn't affect the dry run results.  Is there something I am missing, or is it not possible to import to anything other than the default database?  I have not seen an example of doing this anywhere.

Doesn’t look like that feature exists based on the documentation in the Utilities Guide. You can always get there by constructing a file you can use sqlite3 to import I guess if you line up with the forecast schema but that would take some work.

Why would you want to do this outside what the forecast extension does ?

It looks to me like the Xtide piece only provides hi and lo tide predictions.  I can get down to minute resolution water level predictions from NOAA.  I would like to plot the curve in a way that allows me to hover over the graph and see an individual data point on the curve.  Is there another way to do this using existing methods?

Unless I am completely misunderstanding what you are saying, you are describing some sort of tooltip, am I correct? If that is the case, using a charting library like ECharts (open source) is one direction you can take. Living bang in the middle of The UK, tides are not actually my thing but I guess a similar example would be a meteogram for weather forecasts. Can can see an example of that on my dashboard at https://claydonsweather.org.uk

If you find the forecast card, you will see a link to my forecast meteogram, click on that and it will appear in a popup modal wondow. Follow the curves with with your cursor and you can track the forecast predictions. If you click on some of my heatmap links and other charts around the various cards you will see various other examples.

If indeed this is what you want to do with your tide data, I can certainly help your with this.
