I like the new install from repo very much but it should not:

a) start weewx using systemd
b) enable weewx using systemd

After the installation you need to edit weewx.conf before it is started to change
things like the unit system, database details, station details and the rest.

One you have done this then you can start weewx manually.

For example: the auto start causes it to create a database with US units whereas we use METRIC.
This causes problems.

Virtually every daemon starts after install. nginx, cups, mysql, ... they all do this. The WeeWX daemon weewxd is no different.

You may be happier with a pip install.

Stop weewx.  Delete the database.  Edit your .conf file to your liking.  Start weewx.   Not too difficult to accomplish.

Many (many) people run weewx as delivered as-is on installation to run the simulator with default settings to incrementally add their extensions and desired skins 'before' trying to run live vs. their station.   I'd strongly suggest all new users do so to get their feet wet and learn the product and how it works.
