I would like to adding a new observation type to the WeeWX database. I followed these wiki entry, but I can't find bin/user/extensions.py on my raspberry pi installation to edit. Are there newer steps for adding new observation types?

I am grateful for helpful tips.

Regards, Andre

Hi, Andre,

this depends on the type of installation.
If you installed weewx with setup.py, you can find the file extensions.py here: \home\weewx\bin\user\
If you have installed weewx with another method, you can find more information here http://www.weewx.com/docs.html
method and then the path information is located at the bottom of the "Layout" section

Hi Andre,

sudo find / -iname "extensions.py"

and one moment later:
/home/weewx/bin/user/extensions.py
/home/michael/weewx-4.0.0/build/lib/user/extensions.py
/home/michael/weewx-4.0.0/bin/user/extensions.py
/home/michael/weewx-4.0.0b18/build/lib/user/extensions.py
/home/michael/weewx-4.0.0b18/bin/user/extensions.py

on Debian Buster, weewx installed with setup.py
