From the further posts I think you are on the right way. But I want to add something that may help you for the next problem, too.

I asked "What says the ls command?". Most important there were the 2 characters "l" (lower L) and "s" (lower S). If your enter ls on the command line and press ENTER, than the contens of the actual directory is displayed. That shows you whether the files are there or not.
