How to copy error messages and other info from the Terminal window in RaspPi400 standard install

i'm attempting to install and use Mr. Wall's most recent driver for the Texas Weather WLS-8000 driver.

I downloaded from github, copy and pasted from the readme file the instructions and pasted them into the Terminal and executed them in sequence.

When I get to the reconfigure sentence, I get an error message, with the walk back, when then says another error message is preceeding it.

It has to do with permissions for the weewx.conf file and also something about shutil.

I attempted to highlight them in the terminal window, did a copy, but the pasting of the error sequence to this firefox browser window opened to the Google Groups Weewx-user panel (which I'm typing in right now) does not paste.

I know this seems dumb but i cannot copy and past either the error in the terminal window, nor the /var/log/syslog file to show those familiar with such things what seemed to happen.

Is there some other way to capture that error and send it to this group for comments and help?
