Bullseye is the latest release of Debian. However, WeeWX works the same for all versions of Debian, so we do not need Debian-specific releases.

Because of this, it's safe to go into the repository target file and simply change it. Go into /etc/apt/sources.list.d/weewx.list and change this

deb [arch=all] http://weewx.com/apt/python3 buster main

to this

deb [arch=all] http://weewx.com/apt/python3 bullseye main

Frankly, I don't know why we even specify it.

Hello,

i installed weewx on bullseye and it works fine. The only issue i have at the moment is that i could not easily update weewx with apt.

I get the following error message:

Hit:2 http://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian bullseye InRelease
Ign:3 http://weewx.com/apt/python3 bullseye InRelease

Can you help me with that? If the update with apt is not possible with bullseye can you give me an advice how to update instead?

Thanks a lot!

You have to specify some dist version there so apt knows where to look. (I just loaded Debian on an older server that won't work with the current release so I had to specify an older one.) But, you should be able to set up a "stable" repository and just use that, rather than spelling out a specific release.
