Export data in JSON?

Afternoon all.

Just looking for some pointers on an idea I have before I go down the wrong path.

I am an amateur radio operator and want to use my weewx weather data to make weather announcements over the air on a simplex Allstar node that I run.

I *think* what I want to do is have a cron job on the weewx PI, that creates and places a small JSON object/file of basic current weather info onto my NAS, that the other Pi, running the radio control software can pull down and use.

Perhaps I could do this directly in weewx with a skin and then FTP it to the NAS?

Does anybody think this is a decent approach or have some better ideas?

Unfortunately, there is no super easy way to do this. Issue #341 discusses some ideas around it, but they have not been implemented.  Any comments are welcome!

It is a high priority, so we're likely to see some action in V4.1. But, we have to get V4.0 out first!
