New to Weewx. Conf file

Greeting I'm new to Linux.

Computer: Raspberry pi 3

Software: Raspbian-stretch-full

Weather Station: WMR968

I'm having problems understanding on how to gain access to the conf file to make changes.

I have used the terminal and typed: /etc/weewx/weewx.conf

Comes back Permission denied

I have down loaded the weewx: installation on Debian systems and User's Guide.

Yes , I have Verified to make sure the weathers station is running from the web browser. file:///var/www/html/weewx/index.html

Or can use this form and it will choose the user's preferred editor (a la SUDO_EDITOR, VISUAL or EDITOR variables):

$ sudoedit /etc/weewx/weewx.conf
