My GW1000 is starting to die so I figured it was time to move from that to feeding my data from the HP2560 console.

I followed the previous posts and replaced the extensions.py and interceptor.py files from the post two years ago. I also added the sensor map entries in weewx.conf. Everything works well on my test system, except for today’s rain, which has accumulated 434 inches so far. I know other people have encountered issues with this, but I haven’t found any information on how to fix it. I’m hoping someone can provide some guidance on how to work around this problem. Thanks in advance!

I managed to fix it.

If anyone else is having a problem, what I did was just changed in weewx.conf under:
[[sensor_map_extensions]]

I changed
        rain = drain_piezo
to
        rain = rain_piezo

Hi John,

I've been wanting to use the piezo sensor for my main rain records, instead of the tipping bucket sensor, which always gets jammed up with cobwebs. Where in weewx.conf did you put [[sensor_map_extensions]] - is it under the GW1000 section or at a higher level than that?

Correct, under the GW1000 section.  This is what mine looked like before I moved over to the interceptor driver:

[GW1000]
    poll_interval = 20
    ip_address = x.x.x.x
    driver = user.gw1000
    [[field_map_extensions]]
        rain = p_rain
        stormRain = p_rainevent
        rainRate = p_rainrate
        dayRain = p_rainday
        weekRain = p_rainweek
        monthRain = p_rainmonth
        yearRain = p_rainyear
