Hi,

I'm setting up an installation of WeeWX to replace a WeatherCat system. Currently, my WeatherCat exports a text file full of weather data to my website, where a script ingests the data into my own database. It's full of basic info; date/time, current data for outside temp, wind, rain etc and the max/min values and times for each day.

I would like to replicate this file with a report out of WeeWX, so that I can keep that database current. (I'll use an existing report/skin for making my website pretty ;-)
I found the section on tags in the documentation - https://www.weewx.com/docs/customizing.htm#Tags
However it doesn't tell us what tags are available. Is there a list somewhere describing which tags exist?

Thank you,
Jo

Hello, and welcome to WeeWX!

I'm not quite sure what you're looking for --- the Customization Guide documents the tag syntax, and lists all the aggregation types and periods, and other goodies.

Perhaps it's a difference in expectations. WeeWX doesn't really have a fixed, flat system of tags like wview had. For example, with wview, you accessed the month's high temperature using a single, fixed name: lowMonthlyOutsideTemp. With WeeWX, it's a hierarchical dot syntax: $month.outTemp.min.  With WeeWX, the same syntax is used for any aggregation time or type. So, there's no definitive list.

Hope this helps.

OK, thanks, that makes sense.
