My Clas Ohlson branded WH1080 transmitter has finally given up. I've had a quick search around and can't see any spares other than a Chinese source on eBay so I'm wondering if it's time for a new station.
Does anyone have suggestions for a good value weather station that's available in the UK?

Thanks

My Maplin N96FY (WH1081) transmitter failed this year after 11 years service I took a chance and bought one of these from Aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1000001882199.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.5.19ce1802N94q7L  works perfectly. I don't know if it's compatible with the WH1080 but worth investigating/searching on Aliexpress

Further to the above, IIRC the only difference between the 1080 &1081 is that the 1080 console has a radio controlled clock

Thanks for the link, unfortunately my Clas O. version needs the DCF from the transmitter, none of the Maplin units had this feature AFAIK. There was a time when Maplin sold the transmitters separately but I didn't buy one due to the DCF issue.

Maybe it's time for a new station..

That's a pity, I  was under the impression the time signal came from the console not the transmitter , but reading the manual seems to indicate otherwise.
I bought spare outdoor sensors when Maplin were closing down so have 2 of everything, the only thing I didn't buy was the outdoor transmitter !
SInce I replaced the transmitter  I managed to repair the original outdoor transmitter, unfortunately  then  the console USB connection failed, so I had no way of getting the data from the console to my PC.
I ended up using a USB SDR dongle, and a  RPi 3B (both of which I had) running WEEWX to pick up the outdoor transmitter signal Pressure and indoor humidity/temp come from a BME280 connected to the PI, seems to work well so far.

Clas Ohlson transmiter works on 868mhz  , Maplin N96FY  works on 433mhz. maybe this spare part  of climet wetather station clone of wh1080 works on you in 868mhz

Have you tried looking at https://greenfrogscientific.co.uk/ ? They do
sometimes stock spare transmitters.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately that item does not mention the DCF clock so it will not work properly with my station.

I replaced mine with a 'Waldbeck Halley' which is a WH2650 clone. More robust sensors, it has a tiny solar panel so no changing of batteries, and no need to run a USB cable from the base station to the Pi. It uses the GW1000 driver, and the base station connects via wifi to your home network.

Thanks for the info about the Waldbeck Halley, it looks like a good station.
