Hello,
Best wishes to all.
For 10 years, I have been using weewx installed on a PI 1B with a LaCrosse WS2350 station and the last update to weewx was with 3.6 around 2017.
One of my children bought a PI 4B 2 or 3 years later. This platform is no longer in use, so I'd like to transfer the old system (pi 1B + weewx 3.6) to the new one (PI 4b + weewx 5.x), without losing any weather data.
Could you tell me how to proceed ?

For a few weeks/months now, it's been impossible to access my website (meteo.eybens.free.fr) because of browser security (Chrome, edge, firefox,...).
With the new version of weewx, is this security solved? (I'm not an expert in web language)

Thanks in advance.
regards

i think lionel refers to browsers nowadays generally refusing to access “low” security http:80 sites

with a site and technology so old, my advice would be to save the weewx database and discard the rest, build the new system from the bottom up, then put the old database into the newly built system (weewx database is backward compatible). and use LetsEncrypt certificates (or similar) to provide https:443

Hello,
Thank you for your answers.
During the week, I installed the latest version of weewx on the new PI 4B.
As the raspberry PI 1 was not very secure, since 12 years, I programmed on a windows a daily backup which is itself saved on a nas.
I'm going to try to transfer the database and the weewx conf from PI1 to PI4. I just need to remember the location of the files in weewx...
I would, maybe, probably need help... I'll see...

Agree with you, Graham. I have no idea how to increase the security. The website is hosted by my ISP, free.fr. I don't know if it's him who should reinforce security or if it's the weewx script or something else.

raise a trouble ticket with your ISP and request https [note the ’s’] access to your website

Hi!
Everything went well, including the database transfer, the conf and the installation.
I've also transferred the skin but I think something's wrong because my website has changed. I'll try to find out what's wrong. Maybe it's time to change it or improve it. I'll look at this solution later.
