I have a Pi 4 arriving soon to replace a Pi 3 in which the HDMI output
failed a long, long time ago. I have been running WeeWX headless since
that time. Raspberry Pi computers are very inexpensive, and it's not a
big deal to swap a new one in when necessary. However SD cards are not
designed for constant rewriting, so yes, an SSD is a very good choice.
