rain rate calculation

Hi, 

due to a problem on the wmr300 (total rain counter which has reached the maximum limit), weewx ( vers 4.8.0 with  (rainRate = prefer_hardware under [StdWXCalculate]  ) no longer indicated the accumulated rain for a couple of days but only the rain rate.

In the database, in the archive table, at a certain point an accumulated rainfall of over 160mm was recorded, in a range of  5 minutes,  while the rain rate was only 10mm/h, after this only the rain rate data were recorded, until i reset the counter on ste station.

Can I calculate  the rain data by working backwards from the rain rate?  

so that we can recover, at least daily, the mm of rain that has fallen?
