Solutions for USB lockups on WH3080

Hi all,

I am running a WH 3080 weather station with weewx version 4.9.1. The station is connected on a Raspberry Pi. Every now and then (can be anything from 2 days to 3 weeks at best) the USB connection locks up, that means i have to disconnect the base station, put the batteries out of the compartment, put them back in and then everything works again until the next lockup...

With some bad luck  this happens while i am at work or out of town  so it can take hours or days until i am able fix it.

So i would like to ask, does someone, who owns that station too, found a way to prevent these annoying lockups?

Apart from these issues i am quite satisfied with that weather station and its readings.
