Howdy all -

I've got a David Vantage Pro 2 (wired) and run weewx (obviously) on an RPi4. On the bedstand, I have a venerable LaCrosse C85845 wx station, which has one outdoor temp/humidity sensor. I'd love to retire the LaCrosse and replace it with an RPi-powered 7" 800x480 touchscreen display (nearly the same size as the LaCrosse) that can act as a clock/weather display and perhaps more.

I thought about just using full screen web-browser mode, but that seems clunky and won't show all the salient information on one screen of real estate. I've looked at Belchertown but again that takes up a lot of screen real estate and would require lots of customization. The intent is that the screen would remain dark until i touch it, then illuminate and stay on for a configurable time, then shut off again. Maybe even use a swipe left/right to get to things like radar and celestial.

While I believe I could riff off of the default skins in weewx and what Belchertown has done, I'm lazy. Has anyone else done something like this? Is there a custom skin that more or less approaches something like this?

I'd still use Belchertown, but via Kindle Fire 8 with Fully Kiosk Browser.  See (this) reddit link for what that free browser can do.   I've used it for several years now to display a Home Assistant dashboard with weather, AQI, and door/window sensor status.  Works great.

I have a Tab 7 running the wdc skin via Fully Kiosk Browser
Does what I need, I could never get Belchertown to display well on the Tab 7

You can boot an RPi directly into kiosk mode which will display an html page, no need for a browser.
