Gary,
Sorry for another question/clarification. I am working on upgrading from v0.6.1 to v0.6.3. I am in the camp that mapped pm10 to pm10_0. I did this in [[field_map_extensions]] with the statement pm10_0 = pm10.

In https://github.com/gjr80/weewx-gw1000/wiki/Upgrade-Guide#upgrading-to-v063, it is stated:
"WH45 users that mapped legacy driver fields pm1 and pm10 to observation types pm1_0 and pm10_0 using field map entries as follows:
           pm1 = pm1_0
           pm10 = pm10_0
will need to remove these entries from the [[field_map]] or [[field_map_extensions]] stanzas. This will cause the default field mapping to be used for driver fields pm1 and pm10 resulting in their mapping to WeeWX database observation types pm1_0 and pm10_0 respectively.""

First, that seems backwards. At least it is to what I had. Maybe my mapping wasn't doing anything?
Second, does the mapping really need to be removed? Would it not essentially be a "noop" because there is no gw1000 field pm10 to be mapped? Note, I definitely would agree that they SHOULD be removed. Just looking for clarifcation on my understanding.

Just proceeding cautiously because I have something working.
Thanks again for your assistance. rich

Rich,

I think that section of the guide must have been a Friday afternoon job, quite a few errors in it. You are correct on both counts; the map is back the front plus (in your case) if you leave the map there it will have no nett effect as it just mimics the default map. The other big error is the inclusion of PM1. The WH45 provides PM10 but no PM1, PM1 came along with the WH46 and support for the WH46 was added to the driver in v0.6.3 (the current release), WH45 support was added in v0.2.0. So it's unlikely that anyone will have PM1 issues (certainly not from using a WH45).

I've rewritten that stanza, hopefully it makes a bit more sense now.

thanks,
Gary

Gary,
Thanks for the confirmation. I found it much easier to follow.
