obligatory eclipse thread

Having seen the 2017 total eclipse after a 4-hour drive south to below Portland OR, I highly recommend finding a way to see this one if you have the opportunity.  It is truly an amazing amazing experience you will absolutely never forget.  The diamond ring is sooooooo incredible.   Temperatures dropped 20F at totality and everything turned the strangest colors as totality approached.  Beyond cool.

I've seen a total eclipse on Aug 11, 1999.

My backyard was literally almost on the center line of the path of totality. Unforgettable!

Central Virginia had about 83% total (15:18 EDT). We had the expected drop in temp of about 5 degrees (F) but I also had a drop in CO2 (Seeed S2105 sensor) concentration as below. Is this normal? Just curious. http://grattans.org/wx

Here in northeast Kansas we had 85% coverage and perfectly clear sky
until well after the event. As expected the solar sensors showed the
eclipse moreso than the other sensors. Looking up the sky had a grayish
hue due to the shadow and the light was just different.

We had somewhere around 70% coverage here. One thing I find interesting is that while there was a drop in temp of around 1F during the eclipse, the pressure is where it really changed. Pressure started at 1023.3mb before the eclipse, at the eclipse's peak it had fallen to 1022.9mb, and then it continued to fall to a low of 1021.8mb when the eclipse was over. It then took till 9:30-10pm to recover back to where it was at the start.
