My choice would be the USB Data Logger . Because the Raspberry PI , and many other modern computers,does not have a COMM port, you would have to add a COMM port or use a SERIAL to USB adapter. Many years ago the Davis USB Data Logger seemed to have issues and it seemed better to get SERIAL, even if you had to add a SERIAL to USB adapter. Thankfully nowadays the Davis USB Data Logger seems very reliable, and much more versatile for use with modern computers lacking COMM ports.
2 Years ago I replaced a complete 13 Year old VP PRO system with a serial data logger, with a new VP Pro with a USB data logger. I have had absolutely no problem whatsoever with the USB Data Logger.
