CRC-error in weewx release

File weewx.com/downloads/weewx-4.2.0.tar.gz got a 'CRC failed' error when unpacked with 7zip. The release only contains the directory 'bin'.

Probably an issue with 7zip. Why not just use an ordinary 'tar' command?

tar xvf weewx-4.2.0.tar.gz

So far 7zip never gave problems with unzipping weewx .tar.gz files.

Just installed winzip version 25 (evaluation version) and this program couldn't uncompress the 4.2.0 file at all.

The following Win10 command (runned as administrator) worked without errors:

tar -xvzf C:\Users\ljmhe\Downloads\weewx-4.2.0.tar.gz -C C:\Users\ljmhe\Downloads\lh

I just tried it on a windows 10 system, 7zip had no problems - Was it just a corrupted download?

Possible, but I downloaded the file twice. The 64-bit version 19.00 of 7zip had the error.

I tried the 20.02 alpha version of 7zip and this version had no problems with the unpacking.

Very odd - My version is 19.00 x64 2019-02-21.

Is it time to start worrying about disc or memory errors?
