Database is not storing new records

Hi,

I have an installation that was working fine until a few days ago when we had several power glitches during the night. I suspect my database is corrupt, or locked, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing it. Can anyone advise please? 
It stopped recording at 3:20am on the 16th. 
I'm running a Davis Vantage Pro 2 into a Raspberry Pi, which uploads to my web server. It's the DB on the RPi that is bad.

The Vantage series is prone to memory corruption. However, in order to confirm the diagnosis we need to see earlier log entries.

Stop weewx then restart. Post the log from startup through the first reporting cycle.

HI again. I've been testing my console and unfortunately I think it's fried. The display is no longer responding.
Perhaps this is the source of my problems :-(

This is a 20-year old VP2 console. It's using a USB Weatherlink connection. Anyone happen to know if the newer Davis consoles will use the same Weatherlink logger? I'm looking at the Davis site now and it's not obvious.
If not then maybe it's time for a new weather station...

The memory in your logger is corrupted, but this is easily fixed. See Corrupt station memory in the wiki.

I would not give up yet on your Vantage. These days, there are much cheaper alternatives out there, but Davis is still the best in the business for accuracy and reliability. Double check the battery, power connection, and how the logger is seated.

If you can't get the display to work, the console can still serve as the interface between your computer and the ISS.

The newer display consoles have some sort of mechanism to thwart 3rd party loggers. I'm not sure if it would work with your old logger. Double check with Davis.

Also, there is the WeatherLinkLive, and there is meteobridge, as other
ways to receive data from a VP2 ISS.

Definitely check, and complain if it won't! My somehwat fuzzy
impression is that the new consoles are a totally different design,
don't accomodate data loggers at all, and upload to Davis's cloud, where
you can then pay to get your own data back -- if your internet is
working. I have not heard of anybody succeeding with a data logger
(even a Genuine Davis one) and the new color consoles.

And there is the Davis Weather Envoy available at Davis for full price:


and elsewhere as low as $297.

Your data logger will work in the Envoy.

I personally replaced my consoles with the envoys.  The consoles are bulky and I have no need for the displays.

Good morning all,

Thank you for all the advice. I came back to the station this morning and it seems that leaving it for a day has fixed the display, so yay for that!
I ran the weectl commands to clear the memory and YAY my station and website are now working! (I got 13 inches of rain over the weather event last week!! Yes, it was wet)

I'll keep those Weather Envoys in mind, I forgot those existed. Good to know they will take the datalogger.
