What are the weewx guru's thoughts on an optional auto-refresh for a person's website?  I added this:

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="300">

It works with my version of Tom's Standard index.html.tmpl file, but I'd like to know if it's a good idea.  I also had it working with JavaScript, which was more code and no better.  Is it something to consider in a future release in the weewx.config file, or is it not a good idea?

I do the same, and would love to see this added as a default, or at least as a config option to add so we don’t have to worry about upgrades removing it or causing merge issues with upgrades.

i do similar but there are mixed results when browser client (eg laptop) offline for a while, so ensure a prominent timestamp indicating last refresh

i don’t think we have the problem of millions of leeches needlessly sucking server bandwidth...
