Hi,

I've been using Weewx for a while now, and I decided that I wanted a native iOS app to check my weather data. Firstly as a reason to get me back into coding after a couple of decades and just being curious to see if I could do it. I’ve now got it to beta testing stage and I’d like to get someone else (other than me) to test it to help get it ready for release on the App Store. I’ve created a public beta link for anyone to look at testing it, but in order for this to work you’ll have to install an extension that I’ve created first to create the data that it uses. The app requires iOS 13 as its written in swiftUI.

Extension Link: https://emkubed.com.au/weewx-extension/weewx-emkubed-technology-app.tar.gz

Public Beta Link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/6cDf6InF

I’d love some feedback on how you think it works.

Thanks

Meryon Montgomery

P.S. I’d really like to thank Pat O’Brien as it was his Belchertown skin that really got me going on this journey.

This works well, but I want to know why no source code and screenshots were provided. Like Vince, I have decades of experience in the IT field and am cautious when I can't see the source code. Is it being used regularly by many? FWIW, it's on the Apple App Store as of 8 Sept 2023, and the JSON code I see in the extension seems innocent.

Most likely so that he can monitize it, and there's nothing wrong with that, IMNSHO.

the license for using public domain software includes a requirement to provide acknowledgements of and easy access to the relevant source code. perhaps no public domain code (such as weewx) was used
