Advance information: I hope my question doesn't appear multiple times - I've already asked it twice before, but it doesn't appear in the list??? Last attempt

Hello!
I'm in the process of planning a progressive web app as a "skin" for WeeWX. Primarily I'm doing this for my RC model airplane friends, but if it goes well, I'll be happy to make the app available to the entire WeeWX community.

My question now is whether it is allowed to use the wording "WeeWX" as part of the project title (e.g. "WeeWX Web App" or the WeeWX logo as part of a special "WeeWX Web App logo"? I have seen that there are a few Extensions already do that, but I haven't been able to find any official statement about it yet.

Best regards,
Thomas

WeeWX is published under the GNU General Public License V3 (GPL3). It is very permissive. You can pretty much do whatever you want with it. The only requirement is that you cannot restrict someone else's rights. For example, you could not put WeeWX inside a hardware box and prevent users from modifying it.

Your use falls well within the scope of the license.

Many thanks for your response. I hadn't realized that it wasn't just the source code that was under the license mentioned.

Well then I'll get to work :)
