Versions of Help file

Are there different versions of the Help files which may be incompatible with the version of Fieldworks one is using? The things referred to in the items I have consulted don't correspond to anything in my project as displayed.

Can you give some specific examples?

When you say "Help files", are you referring to what comes up in FLEx when you use the command Help/Language Explorer?  Or are you referring to the Lexicography Course?  https://sites.google.com/sil.org/dls-course

The Lexicography Course is written with screenshots of a specific version of FLEx--it discusses this in early chapters of the course.  In general, most things will be the same across versions of FLEx, and in some places in the course they have called out specific things that might be different in different versions of FLEx.  But for the most part we don't expect anything to be "incompatible".

Specific screenshots of your project and of the "help file" you were consulting would help us answer the question more accurately.

Help/Language Explorer: specific example :-

but in my project clicking on the field label causes the database to be sorted on that field, and clicking on the "Field Visibility" merely toggles the check-boc beside it without any visible effect.
