Cool idea!

Suggestion:

If this is to raise funds, then great, I'll take a couple. if not I
would suggest an app where you can you could upload an image/picture,
click a button to then download the same image again but in reverse
(mirrored). With that, we can print the image on some iron-on paper
and stick it on our favorite t-shirt.

just a thought :)

I like the idea. Why don't we set up a cafepress account or something
where you can order shirts, funding goes towards web2py and link it on
the web2py homepage.

It is a very nice idea,
I talked about it sometime ago when I saw http://www.thedjangostore.com/

Massimo is the copyrighter of the web2py brand and logo, so if he agree

we can use http://www.cafepress.com/ for worldWide

and local manufactures as www.vitrinepix.com (for Brazil)

All the money goes to web2py project (it needs a web2py foundation?)

Or, if Massimo agree, each one of us can use the same default image and build your own t-shirt on that sites.

like the idea, but we need a more complex design.

I think it is a great oportunity to discuss the need of the 'web2py foundation' and perhaps the money of t-shirts, stickers and other stuff can be used to start the foundation.

We must take into consideration the Python logo. Can anyone
get permission?

I dont like too much the idea of putting Python logo together, I like to have just the web2py logo, but if we have a web2py foundation store, would be a great to sell some stuff with only the Python Logo ( in according with PSF)

I have some ideas -> http://twitpic.com/3tk467/full

How about

"get it done!" or "build the web!"

"get the things done" seems too long. I would buy some T-shirts. :-)

Very cool. I'll buy, though we need to find cheaper mugs. ;)

And yes, it should probably be "get it done" or "get things done" ("get the things done" is not idiomatic English).

Maybe "get it done" is too close to "git r done" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Git-R-Done) -- we don't want to be the "Larry the Cable Guy of web frameworks". :)

I like "build the web" or may be "Get the web done" :-), just to combine
both of them.

Cheers,

+1
Zazzle is another alternative.  I don't know if you've ordered t-shirts from Cafe Express, but I did some time ago, and they seemed very lightweight.  Don't know if Zazzle is
any better.
Here is a comparison:

Oh, yeah, I would like a thicker shirt.

just a thought... wouldn't an app, 'powered by web2py', where we go to
buy stuff (like t-shirts) take the cause further? and if making money
is the plan, should we not expand the product line to include other
frameworks; shows confidence, we can make more money for web2py AND,
we can use proven marketing tactics by involving the customer in the
marketing strategy... maybe with a slogan like:

Web2py, Enterprise Framework

'We support Django!'

It has 2 meanings :)

I would avoid any reference to other python frameworks because 1)
people seem very touchy and, 2) we should go after PHP, ASP, JSP, not
Django.

well, except for the part of serving this on a web2py app, I wasn't
being serious. Sorry for the confusion.

Even, I like the concept of gnome love:

GnomeLove is an initiative that aims to help people who want to get started contributing to GNOME.
This page offers a collection of links to useful resources for aspiring developers, testers, documenters or simply GNOME enthusiasts.

Just a wiki to being more friendly to new people. Like:
· receive art proposals (icons, illustrations, layouts..).
· Invite people that use it to write any specific undocumented issue.
· tips and tricks (web2py it's doing this well with web2pyslices )
· translations
· proposals
· marketing (shirts, cups..), sponsors

Well, just to improve community flow.
I will think about that.

There is nothing "official". I once made t-shirts and hats for a conference.
There are many sites that make them on demand. Even if I own the copyright, I do not mind if you print your own or even sell them (as long as they are not offensive)
