Congratulations to Hannah and Crash Data Discrepancy

Congratulations to Hannah Stanton-Gockel on her excellent interview in the July 20 Concentrate Media article, "Ann Arbor Cycling Advocates are Pedaling Towards a Safer Future."

The article quotes Robert Kellar, City Communications Specialist, 

"Kellar also stresses that Ann Arbor’s overall crash rate for all crashes has decreased significantly since 2021, and that there were zero fatalities or crashes involving serious injury in the city from September 2025 to May 2026. (A separate analysis on the blog Crashes in Ann Arbor, which lists crashes involving serious injury or death for pedestrians or cyclists based on state criteria for crash severity, found six such crashes in the same time period.)"

Can anyone explain the discrepancy between the city's data and the figures reported by Crashes in Ann Arbor? I have always found the blog's crash analysis and links to UD-10 crash reports to be accurate and informative.
