Compress snapshots

Good afternoon,

 I'm trying to compress snapshots because every index snapshot is too big. When I do a snapshot, its size is exactly the same size of the index. When i created the repository I configured the option compress as true, but it doesn't work it seems. How can I compress them?

Hi Julian,

I've been reviewing the opensearch documentation about snapshot compression and I found that only affects the metadata files.

> Whether to compress metadata files. This setting does not affect data files, which might already be compressed, depending on your index settings. Default is false. Optional.
