Hi Dimitry,

We are exploring the possibility of running Warp/M in a virtual instance of Windows. Do you think that it is possible?

Best,
Pranav

Hi Pranav,

I don't have any experience with running Warp on a VM, but I know the folks at EMBL Heidelberg do it all the time. Though I think their instances run on the Nvidia GRID platform, which is probably not what you had in mind. Windows guests on a Linux host system with GPU pass-through have also been reported to work.

Cheers,
Dimitry

Hi Pranav,

Here’s our setup:

One basically rents VM’s from IT, these VM’s can always be adapted resource-wise (CPU’s, memory, GPU’s etc.).

Best,

Wim

Hi Wim,

Do you actually run M on a virtual machine? Or do you use it just for Warp?

Best,
Alexandre
