         4. BULLET POINTS ON 'VOTE NO ON I-83 FROM THE THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2024 EDITION OF THE WASHINGTON INFORMER

1. From my perspective, of the two issues, the most important component is that allowing non-Democrats to run in a “qualifying primary” will lead to the largely black Democratic leadership being undermined and the black vote in DC will be diluted.  We support any registered voter’s right to vote, but the 22% independents should not dominate the outcome of the 78%.

        2. It’s also imperative that we follow the money!!  Billionaires from outside DC have donated over a 1/2 Million dollars to         Vote yes, because the want to control DC politics as we move closer to Statehood.  Petition canvassers were paid $15         to $25 an hour.   This initiative is being driven by non/DC residents who paid $250,00 for mailers.  This is essentially a             hostile takeover.  It's a form of voter suppression!!!

        3. Our elected officials are already diverse.  RCV is an unnecessarily complex, expensive and very confusing reform             that is basically in overkill.  We don’t need RCV to accomplish diversity in DC.  If it ain’t broke, we don’t need to fix it!!
