Sometimes the Zoo has animals that eat bamboo leaves. Art project uses are wonderful.

If crafted right bees or other creatures may nest in the hollow tubes - native mason bees and leaf cutter bees.

Bamboo is very invasive  as you can see by the northeast corner of N. Fourth and Hudson. Another bamboo thick spot is on Dublin-Granville Road (161) near Linworth Road.

Thanks for all that information, Sherrill. It's SOOOO good to hear from you. Yes, I appreciate mother nature's productive uses of bamboo. I add to that making bamboo pens and using it to reinforce other structures. I don't need a whole lot, but it needs to be green. Do you know if the other plots allow or even encourage picking?
At some point too, Sherrill, I would love to get together with you. It has been far too long. Would you like to come over for tea? I remember those times when we all got together at your place. It's my turn now. Let me know your schedule.
