An Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejection - CME- reached us today at 5PM EDT with a G2 (moderate) geomagnetic storm level. G3 (Strong) geomagnetic level with a planetary K-index > 7 expected tomorrow. (A planetary K index of less than 5 is considered relatively quiet)

The station will open tomorrow at 1PM. If you are new to Amateur Radio and want to see the adverse effects that a geomagnetic storm of the anticipated magnitude can have on HF radio communications, stop by.

Look for increased sporadic E propagation on 6 meters. Nothing is guaranteed but you might be working lots of DX. It’s also possible to hear very distant 2-meters repeaters throughout the evening hours.
