Thank you both for the timely report and glad to meet you on the ice. This morning. Even with a strong south wind, we did not observe many changes to the pressure ridges, and while the ice was definitely reacting to the warming temperatures, there was only
one crack that seemed like it may have been opening up on the north south axis. It was small and I can’t say for sure if it had been that way before or if I was observing some change. We stayed off of the 4 inch ice to a large part but it’s a lot of it out
there that you can ski to and then skate on. It’s hard to believe it’s really there, but keep the faith and keep going.
I am curious what happens with the weather the next couple days it would be tempted to return the next time there’s cold overnight temperatures. At the very least it’s a nice ski on a foot or more of black ice to the edge of the rubber band.
Now that the sun is coming out, I imagine we will see a lot more movement. Even in the time we’re out there, we saw a lot of pressure being released when we tested or even just from skating across the surface.
