Hey folks,
Does anyone have a sled to lend that is large and sturdy enough to pull a seated adult along the ice or snow (not a child's plastic sled)?
The prices I'm seeing to buy are too high for me for a one time use.
My cousin and his wife are visiting from Czechia at Christmas. His wife just sent me a video of Nordic skaters on the lake last year, asking if it was real. She used to be a figure skater and dancer, and loves visiting Vermont, but she just had 9 screws put into her ankle and won't be able to skate with us, or even walk much 🤦‍♂️ I'm hoping to pull her along with us and figured I'd check with you all in case someone has a sled I could borrow for a day later this month.
Thank you!

I remember a post from a while back where a user used a sled hockey sled as an accessible option. It could be worth checking with Vermont Adaptive to see if they have any information/resources that could help with this.

Best of luck!

See if you can borrow a kicksled- I think that there are several people in the Vemont  group who have kicksleds.
Here is a photo of 3 generations of my family : my sister, 2 nieces and my 85 year old mother crossing
Buffalo lake Alberta. I was skating. You will need "ice  studs" on your boots

I have a kick sled you could borrow if you decide that’s how you want to go. Text me if you’re interested: 802-922-6388

A chair works great on smooth ice. Skate behind it and push them along. If the ice is bumpy, it wouldn't work well, but a wheelchair would probably be great. We used to push our toddlers around in a stroller or jogging stroller - it would just slide along. The wheels didn't turn.

I pull friends and kids with one of my Flexible Flyers with the steel runners. You can borrow one of mine in St, Johnsbury.

I have a flexible flyer, can loan, works great on the ice, big enough for an adult.  Burlington area.

Recommend pulling as in the pics and vid below.  I used a strap from the ski harness you can put on kids to teach alpine.  Attach to sled and drag them.  They love it.
