My comment : Thank you for the message. I request Rev. Father Thomas to also instruct all churches, under his diocese,not to hold open-air masses and programmes by using high decibel loudspeakers, particularly taking care that this is not done in the vicinity of hospitals and residential areas. If such need to hold open-air programmes arises then I request that they consider using Distributed Sound System (DSS) so that the decibels are not more than 55 to 65 decibel measured at 10 feet away from the loudspeaker. Still better would be if everybody is provided remote ear phones instead of using loudspeakers, if any programmes are held outdoors. Under no circumstances should sound emitting fire crackers be burst.

वाराणसी धर्म प्रांत के शिक्षा सचिव, फादर थॉमस (बिशप हाउस, वाराणसी) ने अपील की है कि क्रिसमस और नए साल पर आतिशबाजी और डी.जे. का बिल्कुल इस्तेमाल न करें। आपने कहा कि ये खुशी का त्यौहार है।  ध्वनि प्रदूषण के खिलाफ अभियान चलाने वाली संस्था 'सत्या फाउण्डेशन' के यूट्यूब चैनल को दिए इंटरव्यू में फादर थॉमस ने कहा कि प्रभु की उपस्थिति में बने रहने के लिए, एक अच्छा व्यक्ति बनने के लिए और सहयोग की भावना से समाज के लिए कुछ करने के लिए हम तत्पर हो जायें और इसके लिए पर्यावरण को संभाल करके, ईश्वर की सृष्टि में हम लोग अपना योगदान दें।
