Happy Thanksgiving, Vergers!

For those who have time, interest and inclination, I am seeking something I simply have been unable to find related to the filoque clause.  I recently surprised a couple of priests when I asked about the clause and they were unaware of the prior actions in General Convention related to it.  For example,

The 66th General Convention supports the ACC's request that the Anglican members of the Anglican-Orthodox Joint Doctrinal Discussions prepare explanatory material on the filioque clause of the Western tradition. It requests that issues concerning an alleged mistranslation of the Nicene Creed text be referred to the Committee on Theology.

The 67th General Convention asks the Executive Council to arrange a study of the filioque clause.

The 68th General Convention expresses its intention to restore the original form of the Nicene Creed if the Lambeth Conference and the Anglican Consultative Council endorse the change.

The 71st General Convention directs that the words "and the Son" be omitted from the English Language Liturgical Consultation text of the Nicene Creed (at the next Prayer Book revision).

What I have been seeking (and not finding) is the actual committee report that reported back to the General Convention on its findings.  I think this would have been reported back at the 68th General Convention but maybe the full report came back later.  Does anyone have access to a copy of the committee report that came back before the decision to omit the filioque in the next prayer book revision?
I tried searching at the general convention documents site but must be looking incorrectly or it is not available through there.

All help welcomed!

With thanks,Darin

Darin, I believe the information may be found here (near the bottom of the page):

If this isn't what you need, please let me know and I'll keep looking . . .

Sister Mary,

That was most helpful.  Especially the link at the bottom you pointed out which was a link to the blue book for that convention.

The relevant detail was on page 154.  And that shows me that what I am really seeking is the SCER Study and resolutions for the 68th General Convention where the resolution was first proposed.

Thank you for helping me get this far. If you have access to that material, I would welcome the help.

Respectfully,

Darin K. Herndon

Darin, these are the only SCER references to the filioque clause I could find in the Digital Archives of the Episcopal Church. I wonder if there really was much study - the change was promoted by the Anglican Communion and a lot of other things were going on.

Sister Mary,

Thank you!  Through following the links you shared, I found the longer report and discussion I was seeking in the Blue Book of the 1985 Convention.

From the SCER report to the 1985 (68th) Convention:

I cannot thank you enough.  And I commend the pages noted and linked above to any interested in this topic.

Respectfully,
