Hi.

Is it possible to build VirtualGL on a system with only Wayland installed. It seems like cmake is looking for X.Org related libraries while configuring the build.

No.  VirtualGL doesn't yet support Wayland.

That isn't what you asked.  You asked whether it was possible to use VirtualGL on a system with *only* Wayland installed, i.e. on a system with no X11 infrastructure.  No, it isn't, because VirtualGL requires X11 at the moment.  VirtualGL can use XWayland as a 3D X server.  VirtualGL cannot redirect rendering for Wayland applications (yet.)
